PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN SHANGHAI MEETS WITH ZHEJIANG CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

Consul General Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez and CCPIT Zhejiang Vice Chairman Tie Jianshe

04 April 2008 - Philippine Consul General to Shanghai Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez paid an official visit to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Zhejiang Sub-Council (Zhejiang CCPIT) in the afternoon of 20 February. Vice Chairman Tie Jianshe received the delegation.

 

The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the bilateral trade and investment between the Philippines and Zhejiang Province, promote partnership in tourism and to encourage leading Zhejiang companies to invest in the Philippines.

 

Vice Chairman Tie said that Zhejiang CCPIT is more than happy to work with the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai to contribute to the growth of bilateral trade and economy. 

 

For her part, Consul General Sanchez invited Vice Chairman Tie to lead a business delegation to the Philippines to look into possible business opportunities.

 

Noting that Zhejiang Province is an economic powerhouse with 202 of the 500 Top companies in China located in the province, Consul General Sanchez said that these companies are ready to take advantage of the “Going Global” strategy of the Chinese government.  She also said that the Philippines is an ideal choice for trade, investment and travel destination for the Zhejiang businessmen.
