PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL AND CHINESE BUSINESS CHAMBER TO COOPERATE IN PROMOTING THE PHILIPPINES IN SHANGHAI

17 April 2008 - Philippine Consul General to Shanghai Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez called on officials of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Pudong Sub-Council on 15 April. Sub-council Chairman Chen Bing Hui welcomed the visit of Consul General Sanchez stating that their chamber is ready to cooperate with the Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai in promoting the Philippines in Pudong.

 

During the meeting, Chairman Chen also indicated his desire to establish sister-chamber relations with a business chamber in the Philippines. He also offered the services of the Pudong Sub-council for Philippine companies interested in doing business in Shanghai.

 

The Pudong Sub-Council covers the Pudong District of Shanghai which includes the Lujiazui Financial and Trade Zone, Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone, Jinqiao Export and Processing Zone and the Zhangjiang Hi-tech Park. Pudong is best known as the home of the tallest buildings in China – the Oriental Pearl TV Tower, the Jinmao Tower and very soon, the Shanghai World Financial Center. END
