General Sanchez with Shanghai Vice Mayor Tang Dengjie
Philippine Consul
General Maria Rowena Mendoza Sanchez paid a courtesy call on Shanghai Vice
Mayor Tang Dengjie upon her arrival in Shanghai. During the courtesy call,
Vice Mayor Tang extended his warm welcome to Consul General Sanchez and
stated that relations between Shanghai and the Philippines are very close
and productive. Vice Mayor Tang cited the strong presence of Philippine
companies in Shanghai which help in improving trade, investment and cultural
relations between the Philippines and Shanghai.
Consul General
Sanchez stated that she will work on further enhancing relations between the
Philippines and Shanghai and looks forward to closely working with the
officials of the Shanghai Government in order to achieve this objective.
Consul General Sanchez stated that she will continue to encourage more
Filipino companies to invest in Shanghai and likewise requested the Vice
Mayor to also encourage Chinese businessmen to investment in the
Philippines. She likewise cited the increasing number of flights between the
Philippines and Shanghai and mentioned that this will provide more avenues
for interaction between our two peoples.
In the coming months,
Consul General Sanchez will be paying her courtesy calls on various
officials of Shanghai and the provinces of Anhui, Hubei, Jiangsu and
Zhejiang. END |
