12 August 2009: The
Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai visited the Suzhou Industrial Park
(SIP) and received a briefing from SIP CPC Working Committee and SIP
Administration Committee Vice Chairwoman Sun Yanyuan.
The SIP is a joint venture
project between the Singapore and Chinese Governments established on 26
February 1994. SIP covers a total area of 288 square kilometers and is
being developed into a modern new township and the new central business
district of Suzhou. The concept of SIP planning combines industrial,
commercial, residential housing, educational, scientific and tourism
functions into one area. END
