PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN SHANGHAI STUDIES THE SUZHOU INDUSTRIAL PARK MODEL OF DEVELOPMENT

The Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai visited the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) which was set-up by the Singapore and Chinese Governments.  Photo shows SIP CPC Working Committee and SIP Administration Committee Vice Chairwoman Sun Yanyan giving the briefing on the work and development goals of the SIP.

 

 

12 August 2009: The Philippine Consulate General in Shanghai visited the Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) and received a briefing from SIP CPC Working Committee and SIP Administration Committee Vice Chairwoman Sun Yanyuan.

 

The SIP is a joint venture project between the Singapore and Chinese Governments established on 26 February 1994.  SIP covers a total area of 288 square kilometers and is being developed into a modern new township and the new central business district of Suzhou.  The concept of SIP planning combines industrial, commercial, residential housing, educational, scientific and tourism functions into one area.  END
