urgent ADVISORY

EARTHQUAKE AFTERSHOCKS EXPECTED

________________________________________________________________________________

Following this afternoon’s 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck in Wenchuan, Sichuan Province, and subsequent large aftershocks, Chinese media and military are reporting ‘significant likelihood’ of further tremors, in the Beijing area as well as other locations.

The Chinese military is arranging rescue efforts in Sichuan. While aftershocks in major cities are unlikely to be dangerous, they may well happen.  The Filipino Community is advised to tune in to CCTV9 or Chinese stations for additional warnings or advise on movements.

As part of our services to the Filipino Community, below are some tips to help you prepare for any emergency situation that may arise while working and living in China.

It includes a step-by step manual of how to prepare for emergencies, getting organized and procedures in order that the relocation and evacuation in times of crisis will be safe, efficient and least inconvenient for members of the community.
